WEGMANS!

I LOVE WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANSS!

Okay, so I had an audition sort of far away from my house, and there was a Wegmans nearby, and then I began my adventure.

Yeah, I'm going to skip over the part where I didn't write a post for a couple of days, and start talking about how ammmmaaaazing Wegmans is!
And derr de derr, it's going to be in list form.
1. IT'S HUMONGOUS
The building is ginormous and packed with food, and the aisles stretch on and on. I could get lost in there if I really tried.
2. IT HAS A RESTURANT INSIDE OF IT
With so many choices! There was Dim Sun and Sushi, Indian, Chinese, all sorts of salads, and home style cooking like mac & cheese. I opened a carton, shoved a bunch of food inside, grabbed a guava soda and some chopsticks, and ran to the cashier.

3. IT HAS ALL THE WERID AND FANTASTIC FOOD/DRINKS I CAN'T GET AT HOME
I found Dry Soda (Blood Orange and Vanilla Bean), coconut meat, chia drinks, Nutella infused bakery, and this awesome Egyptian Licorice tea that coats your throat and makes you feel magical.
4. CANDY BAR THINGY
Thousands of candy types all over the place, all ready for the taking. But sadly I couldn't take any. My gummy worm friends, chocolates, caramel, and dried kiwi were left for another day.

5. YUM YUMS
I DIDN'T WANT TO LEAVE! EVERYTHING WAS BEAUTIFUL AND GREAT. IT WAS LIKE A FREAKING LOTUS HOTEL COMPLEX UP IN THERE.

The movie sucks, by the way.
Yep. I had a good day. So that's all I wanted to talk about.
Quote time, chilluns!

My Plight at Being Vegan

So I know I didn't post again yesterday, but I have no excuses. So I continue my effort to try to post everyday, and I'm working out the kinks as I go.
Alrighty, so today as I was looking at other blogs trying to think of what to write, I thought of my 6 month trial of being vegan.
And how much I failed at it.
Here's the story.

How I Tried to Be Vegan and My Ultimate Failure
Now, I love animals and everything, but that wasn't my reason for going vegan. I could probably easily be vegetarian, since I really don't enjoy meat as much as I used to when I was younger (like the time when I was eight and ate an 18 ounce steak. And mashed potatoes. And green beans. And two rolls.). But the real reason I tried to go vegan because I wanted to test myself and see how some people live. I always try testing myself, seeing what I can let go or how long I can wait to do something (or hold my pee as you already know, but that wasn't really a choice). And so I decided to try being vegan.

Note: I LOVE DAIRY PRODUCTS! I love cheese so much I could live off of it, obviously I like gelato more than an average person should, and I used to drink a humongous glass of milk everyday (I hated it until I was in the fourth grade, then got obsessed, and now I'm backing off again mainly due to my veganism plight).

But I thought I could do this. And so I began my journey.
Family dinners didn't work very well. My parents weren't going to go meat-less and dairy-less just because I said so, even if we eat vegetarian meals at least twice a week. So I vowed to be a vegan in every other aspect of life, and eat as little meat and dairy as possible during dinner.

OKAY SO I KNOW PEOPLE ARE GOING TO BE LIKE, "YOU JUST DID THIS FOR ATTENTION, YOU WEREN'T EVEN TOTALLY COMMITED!"
I know I wasn't totally meat/dairy free. But I really wanted to do this, to be as vegan as I possibly could, and if you really look at the facts, being vegan is better for and environment as well as being good for you. And I care about the environment and try to do the best that I can to be as earth friendly as possible taking in the consideration of where I live.

But back to being vegan.
I'm mostly going to talk about how this came into play on my weekends just because that's where the most problems occurred, and not at school lunch, where I figured out a plan (i.e coffee without real/dairy cream).
If I was at home, I was okay. I had vegan Amy's soup and frozen meals, and I didn't really crave dairy.
And at some restaurants, I was okay. Thai had plenty of options, along with cafes, while Red Robin did not (I broke one day and ate there, and felt gross the next day).

But at forensics, I felt bad because I was creating problems. At first I was like, hey, I can survive on gummy worms! Then I found out they had gelatin in them.

So I started bring Odwalla bars and drinking Naked Juice, and it was okay. But people still felt bad about lunch tickets and stuff, and I kept telling them that it didn't matter.

But I screwed up a lot, and people realized that I wasn't really trying.
I was at first. But after so long, you can only stare at the back of the packages of all your food before you freak out. You avoid the obvious offenders of course.
But most of the time you just eat stuff and don't question what's in it (like cake).
And then when people ask you if you're still vegan, you say not really.

(Not sure why/what this photo is or means, but I added it.)
The one thing I can say is that when I was "vegan", I felt better. Like, more awake, and for some reason I could breathe easier.
The downside is that you're always hungry.
So maybe someday when I live in a place that is more hospitable to people who don't/ can't eat meat or dairy, I'll try it again. But I don't want people to feel bad or be annoyed by what I'm trying to do, or my ideas.
But I guess that's their problem.
Sorry about my rant and all, but that's all I really wanted to talk about today.
Quote time! YAAAAAAAAAAY!

Sigh. I hope I can figure out what I want to do. I love making music, but I know I don't practice enough, and don't really know what I would do with it to create it into a job. But I have a couple years to figure that out.
I also have to find somewhere to volunteer, because I need something to do and I also admit I have to get it out of the way.
Well, I'll see everybody later. I WILL POST TOMORROW! :)

GUMMY WORM ADVENTURE! (Summer so close....)

Hey everybody!
I know I took a mini break from posting (tsk, tsk, tsk), but I really needed it to study and right now is sort of my break in time for today. So I decided just to write about my day, because, hey, what the heck.
I woke up early. YEAH! Then I fell asleep again..........but I got up and got ready for school. Took a final, and then I had a break and was walking around school with my friends. We wanted food, but the only place that we could think to go is for pizza, and we were lazy. So we were walking to the playground.
BUT SUDDENLY, TENGO UNA IDEA!

"Why don't we go to that gas station that isn't that far away? I want cake." Everyone thought that was a good idea, so we started walking. I was jumping over speed bumps, being a weirdo like usual, and it was a good time.
Except after three minutes, my one friend stopped. "What if we're late for finals? I don't want to be late."
Well everyone chickened out basically, except my one friend, so we kept walking. But then we started getting worried, so we started to jog. And then we realized that the gas station was A LOT farther away than we thought, so we flat out started running. We hopped across the street, and were thinking about going back, but I wanted to press on.
So we got to the gas station, and as the other girl got ice cream and a Milky Way, I realized that you can't get cake at a gas station.
I should have realized that earlier......
BUT THEN I SAW THEM!
TROLLI SOUR BRITE CRAWLERS!

Okay, so if you are not a gummy candy enthusiast, you will probably not understand how happy this made me. These are the best gummy candies ever! Even better than that two foot long gummy snake I ate at lunch one time and I felt like something vaguely blueberry flavored was crawling around in my stomach. (Rookie does candy reviews, which I deeply enjoy, and they mention TSBCs here.)
Back to the story, I did my happy dance, and grabbed a pack, along with some Sourpatch Kids Watermelons for good measure, and headed toward the counter. Since there weren't any prices on the candy, I took a gamble and placed my treasure on the counter with the only three dollars I had, and successfully paid with thirty two cents to spare.

We booked it out of there once we paid, and after meeting up with some friends temporarily (as I screamed across the road about my gas station score), we kept moving. We slowed our pace (we were supposed to wait, but didn't want to), and walked back to school. We contemplated jumping in a pool, but thought better of it because one of the only things worse than finals is taking finals soaking wet while everyone and the teacher stares at you.
We cut through the sketchy overgrown path, and go whacked in the face by trees and weeds. We actually did this before, but I forgot to mention it. A lot more painful the first time.
We jogged up the hill, being proud of ourselves. The Watermelons, ice cream, and Milky Way were finished, and we got back to school with almost an hour to spare.
Our epic journey was complete, and it took us less than twenty minutes.
Also, all my friends who had gone back proceeded to eat my gummy worms.
Moral of the story: Epic journeys for cake ultimately end in candy, with your slightly lazy (but loveable) friends consuming a large portion of it.
But everything works out.

My hair smells like a pool (I went swimming), and I'm full of sweet potato puree with almond butter. Summer's a comin'. Just wait a little longer for more days of riding bikes without your hands on the handlebars, running through high grass and weeds during manhunt, and wondering what type bird likes to ram itself into your window at five in the morning.
Okay, time for a quote.
"In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: it goes on."
-Robert Frost
Thank goodness for Robert Frost. I read his poems from a huge musty book in the creaking library down town on the days where it is raining and you can taste it in the air before it happens.
P.S I know it doesn't matter, but there are going to be two weeks in July where it is going to be impossible to write since I will be away. Or maybe I'll figure something out?
