Hey y'all.
Just a quick update on me since I know my posting has been next to none.
I've been stressing out a lot lately, and working as much as I possibly can to get school work done correctly and in a timely manner.
So mate has become my new best friend, and I realized how nice and quiet it is at two in the morning.
And while that sounds sort of romantic (at least I think it does), and while I also am sort of strangely addicted to it, I sort of need more sleep.
Also, my face keeps twitching, so that's not a plus.
BUT DON'T WORRY GUYS, I'LL BE BACK TO WRITING SOON!
Hopefully Saturday!
And don't worry about me, I really am fine, I just have these bouts of chaos during this time of the year for some reason.
But I can deal with organized chaos. Perhaps that'll be the title of my memoir, Organized Chaos. Or perhaps after something a teacher told me, Just Under Crazy.
Or something.
ANYDOODLES, I will start writing again, and that makes me happy. Maybe I'll put my sonnet on sporks on here from English class, or a ballad that I'll have to write in the future.
I want mine to be about a police chicken. Hehehe.
Well, gotta fly little ones. I'll write more soon.
(P.S I now have a problem with Tumblr, as in I FIND IT TO BE SOOOOO AMAZING, so if you want to check mine out, it's www.anonymousbassoonist.tumblr.com . Just to let you know. And now this is the true goodbye. Byeeeeee!)

Phew...good thing I got that off my chest. I actually would like to write my dreams more often, but I usually forget them five minutes after I get up. But this one was so epic that I guess I didn't.
You guys getting pounded with ice and snow too?

All the Things
This (I guess) is supposed to be a self portrait. For some reason, whenever I draw myself, I never put a face. My mom (a clinical psychologist) told me that this signals something like that I'm unsure of my identity but I told her I just suck at drawing faces.
And she's like, "Oh, yeah well that's a reason too."
And that be the truth.
But I guess I wrote "all the things" because my mind is usually everywhere at once.
Today (the 26th) I can tell you that on my mind there was:
Caring and sharing time for all. Catch you later.
And she's like, "Oh, yeah well that's a reason too."
And that be the truth.
But I guess I wrote "all the things" because my mind is usually everywhere at once.
Today (the 26th) I can tell you that on my mind there was:
- packing to go to Thanksgiving
- making a t-shirt design
- trying to fix the design when I screwed up
- work for an English project
- the idea that I should be working on AP Gov and Spanish
- the name of a song my friend showed me the night before
- charging all my electronics
- finishing my book
- cleaning the bathroom
- thinking about Catching Fire
- thinking about where I put my black tank-top
- thinking about Marvin (who is still stuck in the black hole)
Caring and sharing time for all. Catch you later.

What's in My Drain?
It bubbles and gurgles
and spits water back up
and it floods the sink every time I turn on the tap.
Is there a snake in there,
its coils constricted
by the solidarity of the pipes?
Or maybe a turtle
whose beak-like jaws push the water
outwards and upwards
and always overflowing.
Perhaps it's a mouse
constantly pumping water
out of its teeny tiny home
where no one will see.
Maybe it's the sunflower seed I dropped
weeks and months and years ago,
and it lodged itself in the crevices of darkness
and began to grow
feeding off the absence of light
and its own hopes of someday
being able to be seen.
Let's hope it's that.

Little Seeds
Hey fellow chicos y chicas!
It's good to be back.
I know I've taken a break from writing on Meadow Inferno, but I needed some time to get stuff done and start getting some of the creative juices flowing.
And slowly, it's coming back to me how to write a blog post that I am proud of and is absolutely me.
But I probably won't be posting everyday.
It's hard for me to think of ideas, and while I do love the small, tiny, random thought posts that have been coming up recently, I also like the long, random ones with all the pictures and possibly deeper thoughts and the crazy drawings and the poems and pictures I've come to love.
But today, as I was sitting at my computer writing this in my blazer and pajamas I got to thinking about all those little sentences said by somebody else that get lodged in your brain. They could be positive, they could be negative, they could be sort of both. All it takes is that little utterance, that seemingly un-important comment, the last sentence at the end of a book.
And it starts to take root in your mind.
Before you know it, it has spread to the outer corners of your consciousness, and becomes something that you start thinking about a little more than you probably should. But the roots keep spreading and spreading and taking more of your mind until it's basically all you start thinking about and you need the answer about what it is really about. So you Google it or you try to drop hints to get somebody to talk more about it. And it doesn't really work.
And it goes away.
And you realize that it wasn't that important at all.
Or maybe it was.
YOU SEE GUYS, I MISSED DOING STUFF LIKE THIS!
Now I gotta go find my Nutella. I hid it around here somewhere...

Just Being
"It's often just enough to be with someone. I don't need to touch them. Not even talk. A feeling passes between you both. You're not alone."
-Marilyn Monroe
Sometimes I'm just sitting on the bus with a friend, too tired to do anything in the morning. Sometimes I'm just quiet in class, but I'm around some of my friends. I can go to a restaurant and get a coffee with a relative and just relax, and we don't have to speak. I just like being with people, and even though I don't always want to socialize or be my outgoing self, I can sit in a crowd, on the subway, in orchestra, and just enjoy the fact that I'm around people who care about something.
I just wanted to share for today.
YAAAAAY SHARING MEANS CARING!
Okay, I got to go.

Lists (An Explanation)
If you've been reading this blog a bit and clicking around, you realize that I make a lot of lists. I usually make lists because I love seeing all the things I like in a specific order that makes sense to me (maybe this makes me sound like I have a problem, but seriously it does).
But when I'm stressed out, I make lists in my head so that when I complete something, it is like an achievement. Usually this helps me keep track of things (homework that needs to be done, books I need, chores, etc.), but today I forgot my AP Gov book in my locker, and my list fell apart. Good thing the assignment isn't due for a little while.
So that is a little chunk of the whole reason I end up making lists. Hope you like them, because if not, you'd better just get used to them.

Whispers From the Water
There was one time in my life where I didn't have to breathe. I just sat there and looked out at the water and I felt calm. Wind was pounding my face, but streaming in through my nose, sliding into my lungs like the cool feel you get from peppermint gum. I understood for a second why fishermen and sailors love the ocean, and can't get away from it. Water forgives and forgets, washes over you to take the grit and pain away, brings life to places you would believe are hopeless. It has the power to give you everything, or take it all away in a split second. You leave the sea, but it never leaves you. Its salty stickiness stays in your hair, kisses your skin, and hides away in your memories, creeping out in order for you to remember the time you spent there, yearning to take you along with all the waves and ripples it contains. It seems constant, yet unpredictable, dangerous, but ethereal. It is own definition of beauty, one that can not be compared to anything else in the world. That is why humans need it survive, not just to hydrate ourselves, but to cleanse and see that there are some things in this world that we can't explain the beauty of, because to do that would be to classify it and put it in place that it doesn't belong. And it deserves to be free.

This is What I felt Like Writing
So, yeah, I didn't want to do a real post, so I wrote this. Yeah, I don't really know why either. But, enjoy?
The man surveyed his yard with a smug smile, and reclined slowly back into his lawn chair. Here, he was king of the suburbs, watching over the slowly fanning sprinklers and perfectly manicured lawns of each identical house as the hours passed by. Nobody knew his name, but nobody really needed to, and he liked it that way. He was ruler without a title, and that is how it would stay.
His sloping stomach met his Hawaiian print trunks, and dark navy (at one time maybe black) was the open space that each fiery pink hibiscus floated on, stretching out to oblivion. The sweat of the ice tea glass that he grasped in his right hand met his own, and the dab of sunscreen on his nose began to blend in with the puffiness of his red cheeks. Eyes closed, he held his face towards the sun in an attempt to gather as many rays as he could as he relished the day and its heat.
Today, he was the duke of the neighborhood, commanding over the empty yards as men and women typed away in their offices and the heads of the children drooped towards their desk as they stared out the window, longing to be set free from the institution that would hold them for another week.
He always saw himself in charge, silently guarding his kingdom from intruders (such as squirrels and lost tourists), basking in the glow of the sun. As he relaxed, the wrinkles lessened their grip on his skin, his muscles lost all the tenseness, and his eyes closed like moths slowly lowering their wings, as if for the last time.
But that time hadn't come yet.
So yaaaay! That's what I did instead. Man, am I tired. Want a quote?
"My great hope is to laugh as much as I cry; to get my work done and try to love somebody and have the courage to accept the love in return."
